Please see the attachments below that outline how you can apply for one of 3 $1,000.00 scholarships from the Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council, AFL-CIO. The requirements are as follows and are due by 8-1-25:
- The scholarship applicant must have a parent or legal guardian that belongs to a union within the three counties of Jefferson, Lewis, or St. Lawrence.
- The scholarship applicant must be 25 years old or younger prior to August 1st, 2025.
- The scholarship applicant must further their education in one of three ways: a. Attending a 48 month or longer- Bachelor’s degree program: enrolling in the Fall of 2025 b. Attending 24-47 months Technical, Trades Certificate or Degree Program: enrolling prior to the end of 2025. The check will not be issued until the program starts. c. Attending a 23 month or less Training Program or Certification program, (the cost of the certificate program must be more than $1000): enrolling prior to the end of 2025. The check will not be issued until the program starts.
- Proof of enrollment will be required for all scholarships, when awarded
- Proof of Parent’s or Legal Guardian’s Union status as a member in good standing.
- Attach a 250-word Essay on “How the Union has affected your life”.
