The Electrical Workers (IBEW) highlighted a recent report from the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) that demonstrates America’s labor laws are broken. The EPI report goes into detail on how the National Labor Relations Act has become toothless and unable to protect workers’ rights. In response to the report, the IBEW is calling for the passage of the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. “The coronavirus may have pulled back the curtain on the precariousness of far too many working families, but these problems pre-date 2020,” said IBEW International President Lonnie Stephenson. “Passing the PRO Act would reinvigorate the right to bargain collectively, which has long been under attack, and restore balance and prosperity to not just the economy, but the lives of working people everywhere.”
