Negotiations continue to progress, and with the contract term coming to a close, the Negotiating Committee is headed back to Syracuse next week to meet with the Company.

Several Bylaw amendments have been discussed by the committee, over the last few months. Items on the list include changes in member initiation fees, electronic voting systems and some small housekeeping items.

The COVID-19 Incident Command System (ICS) is now fully stood down after a full two years of activity. Thank you to all who helped make this critical operation a success, however you were involved. Let’s hope there is no need to ever bring this team back and the COVID-19 crisis is behind us.

The Grievance Committee is working hard to resolve outstanding grievances. Please look for letters from the union office sent via email to advise you of any steps taken or for settlements.

We continue to have weekly Shop Stewards calls on Thursday to communicate any pending news that they should be made aware of. If you have any issues, questions, or concerns, please advise your Shop Steward to bring forth in the call.

We may have another Adopt-A-Highway cleanup in May. This is a great way for you and your family to put in some community service time and clean up the roads that you drive by to report to work each day. The union will provide food and drinks after the event.

If you are interested in the Veterans Committee or the 3DYC, please contact the union office. There are meetings held via zoom that you can attend. If you would like more information about either of these committees, please let us know.

Please remember that all 2021 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) expenses must be submitted to UnitedHealthcare by Thursday, March 31. The federal COVID-19 relief bill allows all unused FSA balances from 2021 to be rolled over into 2022.
